2013 has been a pretty full year for Hosanna Primary School and the Support Group. We celebrated our 10th year of linking with the school by welcoming the Head Teacher, Anne Nsubuga and the Deputy Head Kakumba Babiyre Doreen in May. They made the most of their time with us: their activities included visiting 3 local primary schools, spending time at Brimsham Green School, attending Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church, enjoying a Gala Dinner, a social evening in Old Sodbury Village Hall and time off to explore Bristol.
The new classroom building which was started in the December/January school holidays was in use by the time the ground floor had been completed.
A member of staff from Blackhorse Primary School spent an enjoyable week at the school in October, working with both the children and the staff. this visit was part of the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms initiative, and funds are being raised to enable 2 Hosanna teachers to visit the UK in 2014.
It was great to visit the school myself at the end of November and spend time with each class, meet the children who have their fees paid by supporters in the UK and work with the Teachers. Speech Day was a very special occasion and well supported by all the parents.
We look forward to continuing our links with Hosanna School in 2014.
