“Reaching out to the unreached through quality education that can equip them for an excellent future.”
Hosanna Primary School was started by Nsubuga Anne.
She is a qualified teacher and member of Hosanna Church which bought the plot of land and put up a wooden church building. The Church members had planned to use this to start a mission to those living in the Kisenyi slum. The adults showed little enthusiasm for this venture but the children came in their numbers and Anne felt that she could best help the families in this area by starting a school.
She got permission from the church members to use the church and set up the school in 1998 with 3 teachers and 30 children. At first there was resistance from some of the parents as their children could not be used to help supplement the family income while at school. However they began to see the benefit of having children who could read, write and speak English!
